Second round of ESF commissions launch to boost skills

The West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges (WYCC) has launched its second round of commissions for training providers in the Leeds City Region.

Funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), this Invitation To Tender (ITT) Framework will deliver training projects through The Skills Service. Once commissioned, the Framework will bolster and enhance the offer to businesses, meeting in-demand skills and competencies by making relevant training available to employees of SMEs.

The Framework will contribute to:

  • improving staff motivation, leadership, communication and teamwork,
  • increasing staff retention,
  • enhancing employee involvement and commitment to the company,
  • ensuring higher levels of financial performance by SME employers,
  • addressing the challenges set out in Leeds City Region ESIF Strategy and The Leeds City Region Employment and Skills Plan through building workforce skills.

This tender is proposing a framework contract based on the following groupings (Lots):

  1. Construction
  2. Corporate Social Responsibility (including Mental Health First Aid)
  3. Digital and Creative
  4. Engineering
  5. Financial Services
  6. Hospitality and Tourism
  7. Leadership and Management
  8. Low Carbon and Environmental Technologies
  9. Medical Technologies
  10. Professional Services
  11. Sales and Marketing
  12. Transport and Logistics
  13. Manufacturing (including Textiles)
  14. STEM

This is the second round of ESF commissioned work and follows the set of commissions launched in September under the More Skills Better Jobs and Reach Higher ESF contracts.
